C5A vs C17 . . . When you ever have a chance to tour one, do not hesitate! AWESOME plane as well. Many a year ago, the chief pilot gave me a walk through. Inside is like a GIANT warehouse. Atop a comerical-type of seating for _85_, if I recall correctly. It has such an enormous lift, when it departed empty, at about 35% of the runway available, the C5A just lifted into the overcast sky almost STRAIGHT UP, like an ELEVATOR!!! Sight I will never forget!

I’d love to see an C5 up close. I used to visit family next to an Air Force base and would love seeing those fly in.

Albeit not as big as the biggest Antonov, the C5A is still is a formidable GIANT! Saw a 747 next to it and the 747 looked as if 737 parked next to 747. Pretty incredible size, indeed!

Thanks. Would have liked to stay and get some low pass shots, but couldn’t risk getting stuck in traffic.

I got to walk in all of the USAF airlifters at an air show at McGuire AFB in the summer of 2001, and boy did it leave an impression on 12 year old Steve. C-130s were big, C-17s were huge, and the C-5 was seemingly big enough to fit my parent’s house in the cargo bay with breathing room. Those aircraft are stunningly large.

Also cool was the F-117 surrounded by guards carrying M-16s. I wonder if I have pictures somewhere of that...
